We're all on this journey together to become more like Jesus – loving God, loving people, living with Purpose and leading others to advance God's kingdom on Earth.
Salvation isn't something that can be earned with good behavior. We are only made right with God by receiving His gracious gift of salvation, through our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
John 3:16-17
16 For God loved the world in this way:[a] He gave[b] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
I confess, “ I am a sinner!”
Sin is what separates us from God. Sin leads us to spiritual death and only Jesus can take our sins away.
Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (CSB)
My Faith is in Jesus, he is Lord of my Life! Putting your faith in Jesus is to trust in him alone and in what he has done.
Romans 10:9
9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
I am made right with God!
This is called Justification which means it is the act of God and he is saying we are righteous because of Jesus.
Romans 3:22-24
22 The righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ[a] to all who believe, since there is no distinction.23 For all have sinned and fall short of the[b] glory of God; 24 they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. (CSB)
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— 9 not from works, so that no one can boast. (CSB)
I am God's Son/Daughter!
You have been adopted into God’s family and now you are his child through faith in Jesus Christ.
Galatians 4:4-6 4 When the time came to completion, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our[a] hearts, crying, “Abba,[b] Father!” (CSB)
He is working in and through me!
You are being sanctified which is a lifelong process where God works with us in our thoughts, attitudes, and action to make us more like Jesus.
Romans 6:22
22 But now, since you have been set free from sin and have become enslaved to God, you have your fruit, which results in sanctification—and the outcome is eternal life!
I will grow in my faith!
Growing in your faith doesn't just happen by accident; you have to be intentional about it. We should intentionally seek God. Our faith grows as our relationship with God grows. Here are a few ways you can grow closer to God and grow in your faith.
WHAT IS THE MEANING OF BAPTISM?
You identify with Christ’s death and resurrection.
"Christ died for our sins... He was buried... and He rose again." --I Cor. 15:3-4
"By our baptism then, we were buried with Him and shared His death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead... so also we may live a new life!" – Rom. 6:4
"For when you were baptized, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism you were also raised with Christ." --Col. 2:12
It illustrates my new life as a Christian.
“When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person inside. The old life has passed away and a new life has begun!" – 2 Cor. 5:17
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith... it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." --Ephesians 2:8,9
WHY BE BAPTIZED BY IMMERSION?
Because Jesus was baptized that way.
"As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water." --Matt. 3:16
"...then both Philip and the man went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came out of the water..." --Acts 8:38-39
WHO SHOULD BE BAPTIZED?
Every person who has believed in Christ.
"Those who believed and accepted His message were baptized..." --Acts 2:41
"Simon himself believed and was baptized..." --Acts 8:13
WHEN SHOULD I BE BAPTIZED?
As soon as you have believed.
"Those who believe[d]...were baptized...that day!" --Acts 2:41
