Ramon Hernandez is a businessman with a successful construction company but you would never know it by the way he humbly leads a team that works with leading youth to Christ. Ramon is as “down to earth” as they come which is probably why youth feel so comfortable with him. He is joined by his wife Yvonne in this area of ministry while also being the media tech behind Waves creative edge. Some are even impressed with his acting skills. Oh well, you will just have to see it to believe it.

10 years and growing...Waves of Faith was born in April 2000 in response to a call to reach out to Hispanics in the Tarrant county area. Initially our focus was both Spanish and English speaking Hispanics but in the summer of 2008, that focus was sharply targeted to 3-4th generation Hispanics. But as suspected, we are quickly becoming more of an ethnic blend melting pot but for now with plenty of spices in the mix, if you will. In 2009, we transitioned to two service times to accommodate the needs of those connecting with God at Waves. Much has happened during this first decade: Lives changed, lives with a purpose, lives with fulfilling goals, lives emotionally refreshed, lives simplified, habits broken, regrets released, marriages restored, healthier families, authentic relationships experienced, debt eliminated, homes purchased, global mission trips taken, community service projects completed, and so much more. Waves continues to seek RADICAL LIFE CHANGE as its reason for existence. No doubt the first decade will serve as the foundational experience for the next decade of impact at every level. With the new year 2011 comes a relocation to the Diamond Hill area where we will based out of our very own church building in a predominantly Hispanic residential neighborhood. It’s exciting to see what lies immediately ahead for 2011 as we set our hearts on riding the largest waves of faith yet. It’s the ride of our life time. Let’s ride!
pray for our Vteam...please pray for our Vteam as Waves will send another team back to Venezuela in 2012. God did some amazing things on our trip this past Summer and we can't wait to see what He will do next. If you are interested in being a part of our 2012 Vteam email Rey Martinez at rey@wavesoffaith.com.

Medical doctor Sonny Olivarez started following Christ when he was a teen though Christianity was not his family’s background. But due to his father’s faith and an influential Youth leader, Sonny found himself attracted to a new path that he’s been on ever since. Sonny has led with Pastor Rey since the beginning of Waves. He’s currently the Worship team director, a teaching pastor fill-in, and along with his wife Rachel, has a heart for couples in the area of marriage enrichment.
Pastor Danny is a Dallas/Fort Worth native born right here in "Big D". God drew Danny to Him at the young age of 10 and his life has been on a crash course with the Gospel ever since. Being thrust into ministry, as if by design, and then graduating from Dallas Baptist University in 2008, Danny's experience and love for God and people have led him to wonderful joyous moments in ministry and also heartbreaking trials. Teaching and music are just a couple of the many passions that Danny has and they are reflected through his love for Christ and His work. Among such passions is Danny's wife Stacy. Recently married, Danny and Stacy join the Waves team in discovering and developing true disciples of Jesus our Lord and King. Such a time is now that the Creator God is searching for true worshippers who worship in spirit and in truth.

Pastor ReyFrom Construction hand to Marine to State Investigator to Risk Manager to Pastor, it's not your usual career path for someone looking to serve God. But the truth is that throughout his life, Rey has been following and serving Christ in different realms of work. This is what allows him to identify with living in the real world of making a life while making a living. Now with a decade of pastoral ministry under his belt, he’s ready to take the next 10 by storm. Rey speaks God’s Word boldly and unashamedly but always with the goal of seeing lives radically changed for the best. He strongly believes that your ability to love others is directly linked to you understanding of just how much God has loved you. He often states that his wife Nelly, who is involved in doing life with women, “is one of most loving people he knows”. As Lead Pastor, he desires Waves to be the most radically loving church possible that not only experiences life change but facilitates it for others. It’s evident that the Waves Leadership Team is quite diversified, and that’s what allows them to play off of each other’s strengths as a team who learns, grows, and leads together by example.
pray for our iTeam...please pray for our iTeam as Waves will be travelling to new region India in 2012 as we partner with Imact Indiia Ministries. If you would like to be a part of our team in 2012 please email Rey Martinez at rey@wavesoffaith.com.

Local MissionsWe encourage each person at Waves to look for ways to get involved in ministry outside the church walls. God gives each of us fantastic opportunities to make a difference in the lives of people right where we live, work, shop and play. You could start simply by asking someone, "How can I pray for you today?"

What do we believe? When picking a church you are looking to call home it's important to know what that church believes. Like most of the things we do at Waves we never water it down but try to keep it simple and easy to understand. Here's a summary of what we believe in plain English:Why do we keep it simple and easy to understand? That's how Jesus did it. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God has spoken to us through his written revelation of love, the Bible. We are created in God’s image but in our willful independence from God alienated ourselves from Him. Jesus entered the earth to reconcile our relationship with God by living a sinless life and dying on a cross for our forgiveness. We are now called to this love relationship with God by trusting in Jesus saving work. This frees us to live maximized lives through the power of the Holy Spirit at work in our transformation.
ServingOne of the primary ways of connecting into the life of Waves of Faith is to serve. Our desire is to help believers discover how God has uniquely wired them with gifts, talents and passions and equip them to magnify God by serving in their church, city and world. Our hope is that we would cultivate the same attitude described in Philippians 2:3, doing "nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility counting others more significant than ourselves."As you feel led to call Waves of Faith your church home, service will inevitably become a part of your life's worship. We pray that, in serving here, God would mature and strengthen our gifts and create in us a servant's heart that would bleed into all areas of our life.Permit God to guide you to the ministry in which He has created and designed you to serve. Don't be afraid to step out and try something new. He will always enable you to do what He calls you to do.The following are some questions to ask yourself to determine if you are experiencing the life God has for you in serving His church: * Am I willing to answer the call to ministry, even in the smallest of ways? * Am I using my time and talents to accomplish the ministry God has for me? * Am I living a life of gratitude by joyfully donating a portion of my time and talent back to God?
301 "How to serve according to how I'm wired"Everybody is expected to get in the game at Waves of Faith because God has not called us to be spectators but rather game players. The key though is to discover what you are good at.Some will catch, some will run, others will kick or punt but not everyone is good at the same thing. We are all good at something, but what? This class is designed to help you to begin to uncover what may be your cup of tea, you niche, your area of service. One thing is certain, you will find it personally fulfilling while benefiting others. Check out our calendar for the next 301 class.401 "How to bridge with others and share my faith"Ever felt like you could never connect with a friend much less the world to make a difference? This class is designed to help you learn how to share from your faith journey with others.God can use anybody who is willing to learn how to be his hands, feet, and mouth. We learn how to make a difference one person at a time. You will learn how to make sharing your faith part of your personal DNA. This class is offered once per quarter. what's your next step?We are always talking about the next step. Why? Growth is a process. No one grows overnight. You take one step at a time, one day at a time, one bite at a time. The beginning to the end is the next step in your walk of faith.101 "How to connect with God at Waves"To understand something, it helps to see the big picture like when looking at the box of a puzzle that you are working on. Then to break it down is to see how all the small pieces fit together to make up the big picture. This Newcomers class is designed to give you an overview of what Waves of Faith is all about. We also take the time to zoom in on the nuts and bolts of what makes Waves of Faith work the way it does. There are simple purposes, processes, and plans that move Waves of Faith as a community of faith set on leaning how to ride God's waves for his will in our lives. In this class you will learn what is expected of a follower of Christ who becomes part of the Waves of Faith family. This class is usually offered every other month so make sure to check the calendar for the next 101 class.201 "How to develop an Intimate Relationship with God"Just how do you grow your relationship with God once making a decision to follow him? Most tend to focus on the external when in fact it works from the inside out.In this class, you begin to identify and understand 4 basic keys to experiencing spiritual maturity with God. You will discover that becoming like Christ is a process of learning 1) how to listen to God, especially through his Word, 2) how to talk with God, prayer, 3) how to give what you value as God's, money and 4) how to grow with others through relationships, fellowship. This is an introductory class on learning how to develop these basic habits that will deepen your walk with God. This class is usually offered once a quarter so for the next 201 class make sure to check our calendar.
baptismWe know that there are many questions related to baptism. If you are at a place where you would like to be baptized, or just have questions about baptism, please send us an email by using the form on the contact us page. Frequently Asked Questions about Baptism1.Why should I be baptized? Baptism is Biblical. Throughout the New Testament you find this powerful symbol practiced by those who began the journey of following Christ. It is a sign of your relationship with Christ and a symbol of the power found through Jesus’ death and resurrection.2.Is baptism necessary for salvation? In one word-No. 3.Why should I be baptized by immersion? At Waves of Faith, we baptize by immersion because it is the clear method used in the Bible.4.What about infant baptism? We have many members who have been baptized as an infant. We celebrate their parent’s desire to place them in the path toward a relationship with God. We believe that infant baptism is different than believer’s baptism. We do however practice a custom where parents can dedicate their children to God periodically throughout the year.5.When should I be baptized? The best opportunity for you to be baptized is now. We know the tendency is for people to want to wait until they have everything figured out or until they feel they have their act together. The fact is, if we wait until we have it all figured out then none of us would ever get baptized. The book of Acts is full of examples of people getting baptized as soon as they believed. We encourage you to do the same. If you’re ready we will schedule a time for you to be baptized at your convenience.

surgeJoin us the first Friday of every month at 7:30pmOur Purpose is SimpleSurge is a movement of 20 and 30-somethings trading in the pursuit of the American Dream for a world that desperately needs Christ. We connect our generation and their passions, skills, and desires to actual opportunities to put their faith in action. We boil it down to the phrase:INSPIRE. CONNECT. ACTIVATE.We are a movement of 20 and 30-somethings who are passionate about serving Jesus Christ. We are fed up with mediocrity and we want our lives to count for something. We recognize and even submit to the simple truth that Jesus Christ alone is the hope for our world. That’s why Surge does whatever it takes to get this generation to put their specific skills, passions and desires in action for Christ. We have FOUR objectives that guide our ministry here at Surge:1. INSPIRE THROUGH VISION CASTING: We all have dreams but for most they are too small. Surge is all about getting Hispanic young adults to think BIG, to think Kingdom. God’s Kingdom stretches far beyond our church walls, our city limits and even our country’s borders. Only when we begin to see things through God’s eyes can we fully impact this world. 2. CONNECT TO OPPORTUNITIES: The SurgeForward Campaign has teamed up with The RightNow Network and its 75 mission sending agencies and Christian service organizations. Working with local churches and thousands of individuals across the country, RightNow connects 20 and 30-somethings to ministry opportunities through their church or with one of the organizations in the Rightnow Network. 3. CATALYZE TO ACTION: Surge is a life-changing experience where we work side-by-side with several churches to challenge Hispanic 20 and 30-somethings to do something significant with their lives. 4. TRAIN TOMORROW’S LEADERS: The future generation of leaders will come out of movements like Surge. Breaking free of religion and tradition tomorrow"s leaders will rise up and turn Tarrant County and beyond upside down.
